- Immunology. any of various cells of the immune system that work with T or B cells to initiate a specific immune response.
- Also called sub·sid·i·ar·y cell [s, uh, b-, sid, -ee-er-ee sel]. Botany. a plant epidermal cell associated with guard cells and different morphologically from other epidermal cells.
