vulva vs. labia: What's the difference?

Vulva refers only to the external portion of the genitalia that leads to the vagina, and includes the labia majora, labia minora, and clitoris. Labia refers to the labia majora, the thick outer folds of skin protecting the rest of the vulva, and to the labia minora, the thin inner folds of skin just above the vagina.
