Example Sentences

Milo “Mike” Lude, 101, the longest-serving athletic director in University of Washington history, died Thursday night in Tucson, Ariz., from natural causes.

Lude was hired in 1976 by UW, reuniting him with football coach Don James, whom Lude had hired as coach at Kent State in 1971.

James said he would stay in Seattle as long as Lude got an interview with the Huskies.

Lude got that interview and the job, and the two worked side by side until Lude was forced out by UW President William Gerberding in January 1991.

One of Lude’s biggest accomplishments was the expansion of Husky Stadium in 1987.
